Preview Cosmic Gate's Brilliant New Album "Materia: Chapter.One"

Is it possible we haven't yet heard peak Cosmic Gate? This duo are legends within the scene, and judging by their recent releases, including their latest album Materia: Chapter.One, it sounds like their studio work just keeps on getting better and better. 

Materia is a beautiful album, filled with gorgeous vocal tracks, while always seeking to increase their range by adding a few darker tracks and progressive beats. Three stand out tracks exemplify this ideally as "Fall Into You" gives you that soaring evergreen vocal track, while their collaboration with Ferry Corsten "Dynamic" delivers a darker punch. Their first time track with Ilan Bluestone called "Spectrum" is a fantastic combination of progressive styles melded in with Cosmic Gate's energetic sound. 

Everything about Materia sounds relevant and fresh, a very rewarding album to listen to. Cosmic Gate started off the new year with a strong statement thanks to Materia, and everyone should take notice.

The head of Kannibalen Records and Montreal's own Black Tiger Sex Machine have finally unleashed their debut album this week. Titled Welcome To Our Church, the album follows the story of a post-apocalyptic world where a virus has destroyed most of the world: 

"The world was a wondrous place. Technology had unlocked the skies; beings from far off planets had become new friends. The dream of utopia beckoned as humanity lifted itself towards transcendence.

Till one day, from within, they appeared. Ravenous, disfigured monsters, mad with an unquenchable lust for flesh, rampaging through villages and cities, consuming and infecting all they met with an incurable plague: the Kannibalen virus. As this tide of death spread uncontrollably, the rich fled to the stars and the visitors quarantined the planet, leaving the rest to fend for themselves. Some hid in far off wastelands, others locked themselves in walled cities, salvaging what they could to preserve what was left of civilization. Amidst the chaos, some sought profit and power: opportunists, war mongers, pirates twisted by evil; whispers spread of half-breads and mutants twisting their strings from the shadows. But hope still lived. Bands of survivors, fighting to preserve humanity and restore the world to what it was.

This is the story of one of these groups.

Wolfgang Gartner is set to release his 2nd album on January 29th and everyone should be hyped because it sounds very promising. Marshmello releases debut album

Marshmello surprised the world by self-releasing his debut album called Joytime. It's a collection of originals that we've mostly seen on his Soundcloud in the past year. The mysterious producer first gained notoriety by releasing catchy remixes, and has begun touring including at his Canadian debut in Vancouver not too long ago.
