Wolfgang Gartner previews his upcoming album (Video)

Wolfgang Gartner is set to release his 2nd album on January 29th and everyone should be hyped because it sounds very promising. The album is called 10 Ways To Steal Home Plate and after you've listened to the full preview video, you'll almost certainly come off impressed. Almost all of the 10 tracks sound playful, positive, and upbeat - a refreshing tone from the usually harder edged artist. Check out the preview below:

Wolfgang Gartner recently did an AMA (Ask Me Anything) on Reddit and was asked his opinion on the present Beatport top 10 chart vs. 3-4 years ago. This was his response:

"I can't even listen to it anymore. Like, it will make me fear for the future of humanity if I listen to that top 10 these days. "

For anyone following him on Twitter you would know about his distaste for the current mainstream EDM sound, but it seems he's even less diplomatic about his opinion now than before.

Wolfgang Gartner and Tommy Trash will combine their collective talents for the "Hounds of Hell" tour that will take place in the U.S and Canada this Fall. Check out the teaser video:

Produktworld releases phase 1 lineup over labour day weekend in Montreal

Labour day weekend parties continue to shape up as Produktworld's 3-day event at Montreal's New City Gas phase 1 lineup is revealed. On Friday, August 30th, Woflgang Gartner has been announced as the main draw while Cazzette and trance giants Aly & Fila are set to play for Saturday. On Sunday, September 1st, DJ'ing virtuoso Laidback Luke will be the main headliner. I fully expect that there be many more DJ's added to the lineups as time rolls on, stay tuned.

Sex, Alcohol, and EDM

This is according to Wolfgang Gartner's AMA (Ask Me Anything) on Reddit when asked about what life is like behind the scenes in the EDM world:

"Not as much drug use as people think. It's like everybody thinks DJs are flying around doing blow and pills every night, and there are a few who do, but the vast majority don't. You can't sustain this lifestyle like that. But sex? Yeah, there's a lot of that. I think sex and alcohol are the 2 vices of the DJs these days. But drugs have really become the audience's thing, most DJs who make it to the top wouldn't be there if they were doing loads of drugs."
