Armin Van Buuren: Toronto was the most interesting ASOT 650 campaign

Armin Van Buuren declared that Toronto had the most interesting ASOT 650 campaign when asked by iheartevolution during a recent interview:

Many of your fans have been campaigning for you to come to their city. What's the most interesting campaign you've seen?

"Oh, I think Toronto, people were at the airport giving me t-shirts. I mean it's ridiculous what people do to make sure the event comes to their country. And it's great, but, you know you're going to disappoint more people than you're going to please. So, it's kind of a hard decision. But we're going to make it the best for everybody because all the events will be broadcasted live and for free for everybody to watch it, you know, to listen. So, I think that makes up for everything. If I'm not coming to your city, then you can still experience the whole event."

Toronto was not selected among the first 5 cities to receive an official ASOT 650 event, but hope remains as Armin will continue to announce more dates in future episodes of A State Of Trance radio show.

Vote for your favourite "A State Of Trance 650" anthem

This week is a big one for Armin Van Buuren's "A State of Trance" as not only will we get to hear the first cities announced for the ASOT 650 "New Horizons" world tour, but fans can now vote for the ASOT 650 anthem. Last year's anthem was the powerful "The Expedition" track by Armin and Markus. So who will win this year? Listen to the entries below to pick your favourite:

Want to know my favourite track out of the bunch? I really enjoyed Jorn Van Deynhoven's entry.

A State of Trance 650 world tour to be called "New Horizons"

On this week's ASOT radio show broadcast live from Berlin it was unveiled that the A State of Trance 650 world tour will be called "New Horizons". The new name follows previous names like "Invasion" for ASOT 550, and "The Expedition" for ASOT 600.

It was also revealed that Armin Van Buuren will be announcing on October 3rd the first cities for the ASOT 650 "New Horizons" world tour on a special live ASOT live radio broadcast at a yet undisclosed location.

Hopefully Toronto will finally be selected as one of the cities that will be apart of this year's world tour!

ASOT in NYC sells out Madison Square Garden in less than 1 hour!

Huge news out of New York today as one of the largest A State of Trance events ever organized in North America was sold out in less than one hour! The Armada team along with Made Events sold out all 12,000 tickets at the iconic Madison Square Garden which is a massive accomplishment and a major stepping stone for the Trance genre overall.

Hopefully this is a signal of bigger things to come in future ASOT tours. The Swedish House Mafia also sold out MSG in record time a few months prior to the announcement of their massive One Last Tour which has seen jaw-dropping sell out crowds. Could ASOT do something similar for ASOT 650 in 2014? I hope so.

This year's ASOT 600 'The Expedition' is traveling to far off places like Minsk, Guatemala City, Kuala Lumpur, and Beirut which will create many new Trance fans all over the world. But ASOT 650 should think bigger in 2014 by targeting huge venues in North America just like the Swedish House Mafia did. Cities like L.A, San Francisco, Toronto, Edmonton, Vancouver, Chicago should all be put on the calendar. I don't see any reason why A State of Trance cannot sell out the Air Canada centre, Shaw Conference Centre, or BC Place in Canada.

I hope Armin views this sell out at Madison Square Garden as an opportunity to take ASOT 650 and the entire Trance genre to the next level in 2014.
