Rumour: Is the Guvernment closing this year? (2014 update)
/Toronto Trance DJ/Producer stoked the rumour mill last night on Twitter:

It leaves only Uniun and Sound Academy for big events in the city
— Arnej Secerkadic (@ArnejOfficial) February 6, 2013
Consider it insider info, look for more events to start being announced at the docks (sound academy)
— Arnej Secerkadic (@ArnejOfficial) February 6, 2013
Actually it may be August rather than March, but it is a definite that the rumours for the past decade are finally coming true
— Arnej Secerkadic (@ArnejOfficial) February 6, 2013
@blakejarrell just another causality of the ongoing battle of Adam Vaughn vs the ent district, condos are more lucrative than city history
— Arnej Secerkadic (@ArnejOfficial) February 6, 2013
@tranceintor im posting by my own accord but the info is credible, anybody who think this isn't happening is being delusional, its a sad day

Rumours of the Guvernment closing has been circulating for years. But with the recent closing of the Warldorf hotel for condo development in Vancouver and news of the Ministry of Sound currently under threat from condo development next door, the rumour that one of Canada's most popular clubs closing does not seem completely far fetched as once thought.
Arnej seems convinced that Guvernment is closing its doors but without official confirmation from Ink (the owners of Guv and many other Toronto properties), this will remain just a rumour for now.
