Getting to know more about Bassnectar

From SFWeekly:

"He had a number of years there where he was like the Burning Man guy," Darling says. "He was playing dubstep before anybody even knew what dubstep was. They didn't even know what to call it. They just called it Bassnectar."

Here's Bassnectar's funny theory on why dubstep (not house and techno) took off in North America:

"Maybe kids didn't want to dance as fast," he says. "Maybe we're all fat and out of shape in this country. Dubstep is a perfect electronic music for Americans because we eat too much."

The article is a long read but it's a highly recommended one as you get to know more about Bassnectar and his long road to the top.
