Why you should go
Located just a short drive from Whistler, the Pemberton Music Festival is another worthy event that allows fans to check out some amazing music while being in intimate contact with nature. The lineup is big with Deadmau5 and Above & Beyond headlining, while the likes of Baauer and RL Grime will make trap fans very happy.
Acts to watch (If you want to hear new music)
Above & Beyond: Group Therapy and Anjunabeats have never been stronger in 2014 thanks to a good release schedule of solid tracks and the successful launch of Anjunabeats volume 11, which reached #1 on the iTunes dance charts. Above & Beyond has been busy charting their own path within the scene by creating tracks that transcend genres and emphasizes the strong emotional connection one gets when listening to your favourite music. With tracks such as "Hello", "Mariana Trench", "Sticky Fingers" released thus far in 2014, Above & Beyond are on point today as they have ever been.
Deadmau5: Armed with a double album "while(1<2)" ready to be released this month, Deadmau5 will finally get to show off his new music that he's been so busy creating for the past year. Going to a Deadmau5 event is equivalent to taking a dive into the discography of the Toronto producer as he pretty much sticks to playing his own tracks live. Expect his Pemberton debut to be chock full of "while(1<2)" love.
Big Gigantic: This duo from Colorado have a unique live set up with Dominic Lalli on saxophone and Jeremy Salken on drums that sets them apart from the rest of the DJ crowd. Their saxophone infused bass music is fun, energetic, and had a great reception at this year's Coachella festival. Big Gigantic has just released a brand new album earlier this year titled "The Night Is Young" that builds on their unique take on bass music. You don't want to miss your chance to see these guys live.
