Why you should go

ILESONIQ is the first ever festival of its kind in Montreal and is indicative of the growth of EDM in Canada. Tiesto and Dillon Francis will have a new album to show off, Infected Mushroom will be bringing their special POD live performance, and Montreal's own Adventure Club will be getting their own stage. Evenko, Ink, and Electronic Nation Canada are behind this festival which should bring fans' confidence as they will no doubt ensure that the first ILESONIQ will go off without a hitch.

Acts to watch (If you want to hear new music)

Tiesto: With a new album titled "A Town Called Paradise" due out on June 17th, this upcoming artist album has been a labour of love for Tiesto who has been busy working on it for the past 2 1/2 years. This will be a different kind of album as Tiesto described the first half of "A Town Called Paradise" to be more mellow with softer sounds, while the second half will consist of a more "indie-rock" feel. Expect to hear a lot of new tracks in his headlining set from the legendary Dutch artist.

Zeds Dead: They always bring the bass music but this Toronto duo is in the midst of tweaking their style to allow more room to experiment with different genres and sounds. The slight shift started with the "Hot Sauce" EP and has continued with the upcoming "Somewhere Else" EP.  With tracks such as "Lost You" and "Bustamove", Zeds Dead are extending their musical repertoire. That's the fun with Zeds Dead in 2014 as you're never quite sure what kind of curve balls they can come up with. But for those die hard Zeds Dead fans who just love to hear their heavy bass drops, just wait until "Hadouken" comes on and get your rage face on.

Dillon Francis: Dillon has been busy upping the tempo with more frequent releases heading into his album "Money Sucks, Friends Rule", which is due out in July. His remix of Daft Punk's classic "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger" was well received, while his collaboration with red hot French producer DJ Snake "Get Low" has received massive support. Expect to hear a ton of new stuff from Dillon Francis at ILESONIQ as he'll have an entire album to showcase.

Snails: When someone calls their own music "vomitstep", you know that Snails might be a little weird in a really good way! This local artist has burst onto the scene this year thanks to his hit collaboration with Antiserum titled "Wild", which has received broad support including being featured prominently when Skrillex and Diplo brought Jack U to this year's Ultra Music Festival. According to a recent interview, you can expect to hear a lot of new music as he's been busily working on a collaboration with Herobust, a "grimey" drumstep track and a 90 BPM hip-hop tune.
